CDS Manufacturing designed and built this automatic shaft inspection system.
This system automatically feeds, orients and inspects worm gear shafts at a rate
of 20 parts per minute. Parts are fed from a vibratory bowl feeder to inspection tooling located at the end of a gravity track. LED inspection equipment measures the journal diameters. A vision inspection system inspects the groove diameter and detects chips wrapped around the part. Inspected parts are fed to a good / reject gating system.
